Ham Pizza
Now who doesn't like a piece of pizza and a nice glass of wine?
This is our low fat version of a classic and you can grab a bottle of wine from below. (wink)
Ingredients;
2 ~ 6-inch whole wheat pita breads.
1/2 c. low fat, no sugar added pizza sauce.
6 ounces sliced, lean deli ham torn into bite-size pieces.
1/2 c. low fat, shredded mozzarella cheese.
1/2 c. sliced Portobello mushrooms.
1/2 c. frozen chopped onion.
1/2 c. frozen chopped green bell pepper.
1 tsp. dried oregano
Preparation;
1. Preheat broiler.
Line a baking sheet with foil.
Place pita breads on the foil.
Spoon pizza sauce over bread.
Place pork meat over the sauce.
Sprinkle cheese over top.
Spread mushrooms over cheese.
***Note***We've found that if you saute the mushrooms in a pan first, they won't be as watery on the pizza.
Sprinkle onion, green bell pepper and oregano on top.
If you don't like green peppers, you can substitute yellow, orange or red peppers for a sweeter version.
2. Place under broiler about 8 to 10 inches from the heat for 5 minutes, or until warmed through.
