French-Toast with Smoked Turkey, Honey & Walnuts
This is an excellent, yet easy weekend breakfast or brunch recipe.
Plus it's loaded with
walnuts
and we all know by now how heart-healthy they are, right?
We'll start off with our ingredients;
Ingredients;
2 eggs.
salt and freshly ground black pepper.
2 slices whole grain bread.
olive oil spray (of course).
1/4 lb. sliced, smoked turkey breast.
2 tbsp. honey.
2 tbsp. walnuts, broken.
Preparation;
1. Break eggs into a small bowl.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Add the bread and let soak.
Turn to make sure both sides soak up the eggs.
2. Coat a large nonstick skillet with olive oil spray and place over medium-high heat.
Remove bread from bowl and add to skillet.
Cook 2 minutes.
Turn and cook another 2 minutes.
3. Remove slices to 2 plates.
Divide the turkey between the two slices.
Spread honey on turkey and sprinkle walnuts on top.
Makes 2 Servings.
Per Serving: 328 cal, 24 g pro, 31 g carb, 13 g fat, 3 g sat fat, 249 mg chol, 2 g fiber, 219 mg sodium.
