Foods with Zero or Negative Calories



Although all foods contain calories.

Some foods take so much energy to digest that your body actually burns them up in the process of consuming them.

These are called zero calorie foods.

Still other amazing super foods take so much energy to digest that you actually lose weight by eating them!

These are known as negative calorie foods.

Sometimes just getting a quick jump into losing weight is enough to give a person the encouragement to continue dieting.

Dieting is difficult at best, so undergoing a dramatic weight loss of six to twelve pounds in a week or two, can often give a dieter the boost they need to continue on in a successful diet program.

Just a few examples of negative calorie foods are as follows:

An average tomato will contain approximately 26 calories but it'll take you 60 to digest it amounting in a 34 calorie loss each time you dine on it.

A stick of celery contains only 6 but it'll take you 50 to digest it giving you a loss of 46.

One hundred grams of broccoli has about 25 calories but will cause you to burn up 80 consuming it for a loss of 55.

Use Flavor Enhancers That Won't Add Any Extra To Your Meal:

When you're dieting, foods or salads don't have to be bland.

You can avoid high calorie sauces and still have tongue tingling flavor in your meals.

These taste enhancing sauces have zero or negative calories yet contain a ton of flavor when they're used to season your food:

Tabasco pepper sauce, lemon juice, lime juice, orange juice and mustard.

For a spice that will actually cause you to lose weight by increasing your metabolism use Cayenne pepper.

Don't Forget To Diet Responsibly:

When using these zero calorie foods for dieting, don't forget the importance of protein in your diet plan.

The ideal way to use these zero calorie foods to your advantage, is to include more of them into your basic living plan, and insure that you consume them on a regular basis.

For quick weight loss or a more rigid diet plan set aside days to incorporate only zero calorie foods into.

Eat only zero calorie foods for one or two days a week and then eat your regular foods for the remainder of the week.
